The Thomas J. Beatson Jr. Foundation seeks applications from outstanding biomedical researchers with academic rank of Assistant Professor or higher from accredited institutions for the 2021 “Passion to Find a Cure” Program. The Foundation seeks to fund innovative research to better understand and find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.
Among the areas of highest priority include: beta cell transplantation and regeneration, autoimmunity issues, diabetes related complications and management of T1D using devices. Proposals will be reviewed by a scientific advisory board and grants will be issued on the basis of creativity, relevance, feasibility and available funds.
The Foundation will look to fund five, two-year projects at $100,000 per year, with an additional up to $10,000 in indirect costs. The Thomas J. Beatson Jr. Foundation values diversity and inclusion, and we encourage applicants from underrepresented minorities in biomedical research.
